Board & Trains

Board & Trains are a specialised service by approval only. I only take certain dogs in for B&T’s as they will be entering my home and personal life. The comfort of my dogs and family dynamic is important, so ensuring everyone is getting the attention they need during my personal time is essential. Board & Train dogs will be included in our routine and home life where appropriate, so being the right fit is vital. I will only take dogs who have already had previous services and who I’ve gotten to know.
I only take 1 or 2 board and train dog’s at a time, to continue to give my dogs and client dogs all the attention and care they need.

Why choose a Board & Train and who is it suitable for?

  • For concentrated training to further push and progress the development of the dog.

  • Puppy raising, to give the puppy appropriate lessons during their critical learning window. And for exposure to new environments/handlers away from their new home, to aid in the prevention of separation anxiety.

  • For owners to have a safe, familiar place for their dog to board while you are travelling.

  • For a home like, mentally and physically enriching day, every day of their stay.

  • Typical boarding kennel environments can be very stressful and under fulfilling for your dog. This can cause behaviour problems or regressions in their training.

What it involves:

  • Pick up and drop off service

  • Individualised exercise and training each day

  • Plenty of yard/free time. Not kept in a kennel most of the day like large population kennels

  • Low stress, homely, loving environment

  • You provide your dog’s food (to avoid any upset stomachs or food intolerances)

  • Will administer medication at no extra cost

  • Training treats included

  • You may provide a bed or comfort toy for your dog’s stay, but I also have bedding

  • Each day, your dog will get 2 and sometimes 3 of these activities: training session, off property sniff walk or treadmill session. Each day is different depending on the needs of the dog, weather conditions etc. Some days extra time is spent on one activity, so less or none on another

  • Affection and cuddle time as per dog’s preferences

  • Daily photos and updates!
