6 months milestone for Odette's pups! Where did the time go 🩵 I love watching the lives they are living 🥰

Happy 1st birthday to Odette's 1st litter for a couple weekends ago! I left it to last minute to ask for everyone's photo, so the delay is on me, but we already wished everyone a very happy year around the sun. The common feedback is how much joy these sweethearts are bringing to all of their families. We are one big Lionheart family, even with the new distance between 🤍

Happy birthday to Odette, Teddy, Winston and all of their siblings from Grace and Leo's first litter. It's been a wild 4 years and this litter have grown into dogs I'm so proud of 🤍 Thank you to all the incredible homes they belong to.

And thank you to my beautiful dog community who came to help celebrate/commiserate this weekend. I have so many dearest memories to keep with me forever 🤍 I will miss my dog family ❤️‍🩹 Especially my Lionheart Border Collie fam.

Happy 6 months to these gorgeous pups! This was Odette's first litter, so it has been wonderful to watch them grow and mature. I'm loving this pairing so far and how each pup is developing. My favourite thing, is hearing how much joy and fulfillment they bring to their families. I can't get enough of our little Lionheart community and how special these homes are for each pup. I had the privilege to raise these loving little souls and am proud of them all.

PUPPY DIARIES - Sound/Movement Exposure - Some machanical equipment I expose the pups to for sound & movement exposure includes, the vacuum, mower and weed whacker. Often paired with food or play, the tool is used at quite a distance before closing the space between, when the pups show some tolerance. *Of course a minimum distance and environment is important for safety with some tools, and less movement is better initially to avoid targeting prey drive for these machines*

PUPPY DIARIES Recall Foundations 🔊 We start practicing recall early by pairing "Pup Pup Pup" with food or me. I want the pups to have a strong response to me calling them and they come, so this is ingrained early. Most of the time, Pup Pup leads to food, which is a strong desire at this age, so motivation is high. Later I use it to mean we're on the move, so follow me. E.g moving yards, going outside, going for an adventure.

PUPPY DIARIES 🍳🥕Food Variety 🐟 I like to introduce the pups to a variety of foods as their digestive system develops. Things I like to consider as this is a critical time of rapid growth & development: quality, raw, high protein, high fats, balanced nutrients, adequate calcium, adequate phosphorus, exposure to new textures and taste. As they get older, I combine eating from a dish, feeding out of the hand and scatter feeding - to establish hunt drive, slow down consumption and to have more space from siblings.
