I'm very excited to add this service for the Canberra dog community.

My friend and dog trainer from Outdoor Paws, Ben, has bravely accepted my request to join me for this latest vision.

The Pack Trek, is a full day excursion for a small, select group of healthy, athletic, energetic dogs, looking to challenge their physical and mental stamina. It is an endurance activity, designed to provide the dogs biological fulfilment, exercise, exploration, socialisation, and stimulation over the course of 8-9hrs and 20km, along a carefully chosen pre-planned route. We provide a lunch break where the dogs get to rest and recharge while enjoying the canine equivalent of a healthy packed lunch.

The dogs will share the load, by carrying their own water, lunch and bowls in doggie saddle packs, suitable to each dog’s capabilities.

Given the physical demands and social setting, we understand this is a selective service, targeted for the healthy, fit, athletic canines out there, who need more than just a short daily walk or play, who would thrive on a full day adventure. Because the safety of every dog and person is important, each dog will need to have reasonable leash skills/training and be generally calm, confident, and composed on lead. 20km of pulling isn't good for anybody! The dogs included, will also need to be dog social, neutral or tolerant.
Appropriate dogs, must be between 10 months - 10 years old to attend.

Any dogs who haven’t worked with us before, will need to complete a Meet & Greet prior to booking a Pack Trek, to confirm we’re an appropriate fit. Any new dogs joining our Pack Trek are attending as a trial to ensure suitability for the activity and group dynamics.

Here are the important details:

* Pack Trek is a small group of dogs (6-8) trekking 20kms around beautiful Canberra for exercise, basic pack skills training, social time, exploration and biological fulfilment to roam, with water and sniff breaks along the way, and the pace set by the group on the day.

* Pack Treks are once a month at this stage, with limited spots. Next Pack Trek is August 3rd. Then the following will be September.

* Duration: Full day, 8-9hrs.

* Price: $250

* Drop off/Pickup: Dogs will be dropped off by owners between 7-8am at a location set in advance based on the Trek route, then picked up by owners between 3-4pm at that same location.

* Food: An energy-dense fresh lunch will be provided. Any dietary requirements can be accommodated on request.

* Gear: Dogs will carry their own packs and need only come wearing their collar with tags. I will use my own Lionheart Leashes and equipment, as best suited to each individual dog.

* Media: Photos and videos will be taken for socials and advertising, and also to show you how your pup went on the Trek. Plus, feedback will be given for each dog in person at pickup.

**Cancellations made 48-24 hours prior to booking, will incur a 50% of total booking payment. Cancellations made on the day of booking will require full service payment.
